Shenandoah offers fast-track, guaranteed admission options for academically talented students in: o o o o Athletic Training (3 + 2.5) Occupational Therapy (3 + 2.5) Pharmacy (3 + 4) Physical Therapy (3 + 3) During the undergraduate application process, student applicants work with their admissions counselor to determine eligibility for the fast-track, guaranteed admission to a graduate program option. Eligibility is determined by a student’s high school GPA and test scores, observation hours and an interview. Centers & Institutes Blue Ridge Institute for Environmental Studies coordinates campus projects related to environmental research, sustainability and education. Community Based Participatory Research Community History Center brings together students, scholars and citizens who share an interest in regional studies and the history of the Shenandoah Valley. Institute for Church Professions is responsible for calling, forming and sending leaders for tomorrow’s church and world in response to the needs of local congregations. James A. Davis Lectures in Religion brings leaders from the religious community to campus to discuss topics related to theology and spiritual studies. McCormick Civil War Institute provides an educational focus for Civil War studies and highlights the vital role Winchester and the Shenandoah Valley played in the Civil War. Warrington Science Symposium features nationally renowned scholars discussing topics related to the natural sciences and student research. Willa Cather Institute, devoted to native-born Cather’s writing and lifelong cultural interests, regularly supports curricular and extracurricular programs for students and the public. Shenandoah River Campus at Cool Spring Battlefield This land along the great river can’t help but inspire the creativity, imagination and curiosity of everyone in the Shenandoah University community. —Professor of History Warren Hofstra, Ph.D. Come enjoy 195 acres of preservation land along the Shenandoah River for use as an outdoor classroom and recreational space for the university community and general public. This historic property was integral to the July 18, 1864, Battle of Cool Spring. It also serves as a living laboratory for history and the environmental studies programs.
