Tea Drinking
What Xiu Zhi Mu said about “Tea Drinking” in Ping Ming Middle School was
different from what Hu Shi Zhi said last time.
I neither had time to take part in there
nor saw his dedicated speech scripts. But I guessed he might talking about Japanese
Teaism (さどう，Sadou in Japanese) and did a great job on that. Japanese Teaism,
Sadou, stood for “Appreciate for what you encountered,” to enjoy the beauty and
peace for realizing what is life-long.
This was one of the Japanese Arts.
Information about this art what Xiu could explain all for everyone pretty well but
what I wanted to share with you here was my own expression of tea drinking only.
The best chosen for drinking tea was Green Tea. There is nothing to talk
about Black Tea what might be mixed with sugar and milk.

Pyecroft by George Gissing is an amusing book but the chapter of winter talking
about drinking tea based on English tradition that had block tea and bread with butter.
However, this kind of way for tea drinking is lasted thousands of years.
I do not like
that. Having a cup of block tea with toasts is snacks for the hungry.
What I say
“Tea-drinking” is having a cup of tea without the other foods only to taste its smell,
taste and the color of the tea not for thirsty or hungry.
During the old time, there
were Fried Tea and Matcha. Nowadays, the way to have a cup of tea is to use boiled
water with tealeaves.
What Okakwra Kakuzo talked about this was the tea of
naturalism at his book, Book of Tea (1919). During the old time, the Chinese would
drink teas cups after cups for a period of time in tea-house what seemed thay were
back from the desert. This is quite similar with my ideal way for tea drinking.
But
these kinds of situations are not easy to see by influenced by the western cultures.
You might have chance to get involved in the old tradition of drinking tea in the
country side where the table sets and decorations were easy what you would feel the

atmosphere around you but not the real meaning of tea drinking.
What do you need to have the experience of the traditional tea drinking?
At
first, you should not drink alone without friends. And then the most important
element is the equipments for tea drinking; you should use the water from mountains
and fine china sets to have cups of tea. And pick up the place where in the bricked
houses with ole-timed windows enjoying the tease and taking a rest.
teas, everyone go back to their works to fight for his or her goals.
After drinking
In Chinese way of
drinking tea, people all have “some kind of munchies made of watermelon seeds”
with teas. But I think people should have some light foods while having cups of tea.
However, people have a taste on the Chinese Tea are quite similar with the western
way what having the foods the like while drinking of tea.
