Learning e-nglish English is an international language. In every corner of the world, in every walk of life, people use English to communicate with each other. English has also entered many different languages and become an important part of them. In fact, English has become as important as your mother tongue, and very few people can afford not to learn English. But how can you help yourself learn English? Here are a few tips. The first step is to feel positive about learning English. If you believe that you can learn, you will learn. Be patient. You do not have to understand everything all at once. You will make mistakes when you learn something new, but you can learn from your mistakes. The second step is to pratice your English. For example, write a journal every day. You will get used to writing in English, and you will feel comfortable expressing your ideas in English. After several weeks, you will see that your writing is improving. In addition, you must speak English every day. You can practice with your classmates outside class. You will make mistakes, but gradually you will become comfortable communicating in English. The third step is to keep a record of your language learning. You can write this in your journal. After each class, think about what you did. Did you answer a question well? Did you understand something the teacher explained? Perhaps the lesson was difficult, but you tried to understand it. Write these accomplishments in you journal. Your classroom, however, is hardly the only place to help you learn English. Go online and you can learn English without leaving your home. You can use an online dictionary to look up a word, learn how to pronounce it, and find a lot of other useful information. Do you want to pick up a few phrases? Look for something like”A Phrase a Day.” Do you need some games to amuse yourself? Try tongue twisters. If you need friends, you can use e-mail to reach someone thousands of miles away, and you can practice your English writing at the same time. Or you can visit the chat room and discuss your problems, in English, with your online friends. If necessary, the computer can check your spelling, too. If you are tired, you can sit back and read an electronic book. Learning English online can be a lot of fun. English is the language in the global village. You have your ticket to this world community if you can speak English well. With a lot of tools at your fingertips, you can learn English in a very different way. So have fun and let’s learning e-nglish. Lesson One The city bus stopped at the corner. David Yang got on the bus. He sat near a window. He took off his hat and leather gloves.
