I am anxious to obtain a copy of the title mentioned above, but I have
found it difficult to get a copy in Hong Kong. I would therefore be
grateful if you would tell me where I can find a copy and how much it
costs. If you stock it yourselves, I will to your shop to buy a copy, but if
there is no stock in Hong Kong, can you please order a copy for me from
the publishers? If it is necessary to order it from overseas, please tell me
how long you expect it will take to arrive in Hong Kong.

title mentioned above.
We regret we do not have this title in stock at the moment, but we will be
pleased to obtain it from the publishers in the U.K. We imagine that it
will take about six weeks to come from the U.K., and its Hong Kong price
will be HK$32.50. As soon as it arrives we will inform you, or
alternatively, if you prefer, we will send it to you by post and will send our
invoice, inclusive of postal charges, at the same time.

I see from this morning edition of the Morning Mall that supplies of the
“Tocoh Super Quartz Chronometer” have arrived in Hong Kong. I would
therefore be grateful if you would let me know where they are available
and also how long they have been on sale here.
I am interested in stocking these watches here and so am anxious to know
who the Tocoh agent is in Hong Kong. Do you handle these watches
yourselves? If you do, please tell me what the wholesale price is and
how much discount you can allow on twenty watches. If your prices are
reasonable, it is very likely I will wish to order quite a large quantity from
you, but, as I will be buying for resale, I will not be able to do so unless
you quote a competitive price.

stock the Super Quartz Chronometer. We therefore look forward to

I notice that you are interested in buying a quantity of this watch for resale
and ask what the price is. The wholesale price is HK$150 per piece and
the recommended retail price is HK$225. In addition, we are able to
allow you a 12.5% discount on the purchase of 25 pieces. As you are a
new customer, we will expect cash with order, but on subsequent orders
we will allow you 30 days’ credit.
In view of what I have said above, I hope you will wish to visit our

I understand that you manufacture school desks and would therefore
appreciate it if you sent me details of the desks that you are able to supply.
This is rapidly expanding boys’ school that opened last September. It is
therefore very likely that, provided your products are of good quality and
reasonable priced, we will wish to order a good deal of furniture from you
in the next few years. Our present order may be for 150 classroom desks
and chairs suitable for boys aged between thirteen and eighteen, and so I
would appreciate it if you would quote for these. Provided we are
satisfied with them, we will probably place a further order next year.
As we have been asking for quotations from other suppliers, it is important
that you quote competitive prices.
