音樂劇定義
• 概括地說,音樂劇是以簡單故事情節為支撐,
以演員戲劇表演為根基,使音樂與舞蹈發揮
潛能,將這些表演藝術整合為統一體的藝術
形式.
• Oscar Hammerstein II (60年代重要作詞家)
說:”It can be anything it wants to be. There
is only one thing a musical absolutely must
have—MUSIC.”
• “ Musical”is a shortened form of “musical
comedy”. 但是隨著長時間的發展,從早期SHOW
BOAT,到悲慘世界,音樂劇已不限於喜劇,可以是各
式各樣諷刺劇(如CHICAGO),或悲劇.
• 音樂劇在英文字典裏的定義:a stage, television
or film production utilizing popular-style
songs - dialogue optional - to
• either tell a story (book musicals) or
showcase the talents of the writers and/or
performers (revues).

• 欣賞重點:1. 作曲家如何巧妙地將口語對白
化為有調性的音樂,並可與歌劇的詠嘆調作

妙地演出來,如何讓觀眾在看這一段戲時看
到戲,而非僅僅聽到美妙的歌聲而已.一個好
的作品應該是用聽的就可以了解劇情的.
