STUDENT SENATE
SESSION XXXVII – MEETING 20
March 22nd, 2016 – 7:00PM – Paul College Room 185
I.
II.
CALL TO ORDER:
GUEST SPEAKER: Amy Maki, UNH Communications & Public Affairs
A. We are going to share two concepts and want to get your feedback.
B. What to you all think of the phrase “edge of possible.”
i. Shannon: I don’t like it, for it implies an end.
ii. Amanda: I like it because it encompasses the college experience.
iii. Jon: It makes me wonder where the edge is . . . not sure if that is good or
bad.
iv. Sam: I think it is a call to push the boundary.
v. Lincoln: Makes me think of AT&T.
C. Does it have a positive or negative connotation?
i. Aaron: Hard to make the distinction without knowing the context.
D. Could it be incorporated as a slogan for UNH?
i. Amanda: UNH is about believing in each other, and this slogan does not
seem to embody that.
ii. Sam: As it is, it feels like fluff and is rather empty.
E. Here are two concepts for our View Book featuring “the edge of possible.” These
concepts are not final.
i. The Senate believes that a background images should be used rather than
a plain background. However, the text needs to stand out and truly
resemble the college experience without being too long and distracting.

was selected to go on this mission, and why I have chosen to

leadership skills, and learning how to strengthen multi-cultural
relations here on campus. I hope to represent this body and the
University well as I take part in this summer mission, and I intend
