King County Public Health Application assistance for programs: Medical, Basic food, Utility assistance, and Orca lift YWCA Domestic Violence Advocate Service Supports anti-violence policies and programs that protect survivors, hold perpetrators accountable and work to eradicate sexual assault and domestic violence, trafficking of women and girls and dating violence. YWCA Community Jobs Program Provides subsidized work experience, training and support through a variety of programs. YWCA BankWork$ An eight-week bank teller training program that provides free instruction, job placement and ongoing career coaching to low-income job seekers with an interest in the banking industry. Educational Services & Resource Area The OCE&E offers tuition assistance programs for low-income adults and dislocated workers seeking instruction for high-demand professional/technical programs. Eight (8) computers are available for college/career exploration, applying for benefits on the WA Connection Portal, online banking, sourcing veteran benefits and applying for financial aid. Employment Services WorkSource North Seattle and affiliated employment services partners at the OCE&E provide job search support through workshops and one-on-one assistance. Job Search Resource Room Nineteen (19) computers are available for job search. Phones and a fax machine are available in the first floor lobby for customer use. Social Services Affordable Care Act Assistance (ACA/ObamaCare) Improving quality and access, driving down costs, reducing the number of uninsured, and making health care more affordable for un-insured individuals. American Financial Solutions (AFS) SOCIAL SERVICES Helps clients find debt solutions, provides credit counseling and financial education. Catholic Community Services Services and programs to help individuals with housing stability, rent assistance, hygiene & cleaning products, utility & transportation assistance and ORCALift registration. The Department of Social & Health Services, in partnership with other agencies, provides a wide variety of support services to help individuals and families meet basic needs. Kids’ Area OCE&E provides a play area for children while parents/guardians are conducting business in the building. There is a 90-limit and children must be potty trained. Community Psychiatric Clinic: Child & Family Therapy Services Provides an array of treatment and counseling services to assist our clients in achieving recovery from behavioral health disorders DSHS Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Helping individuals with disabilities to participate fully in their communities and become employed. DSHS Division of Child Support (DCS) Alternative Solutions Resource-focused support for DCS parents who have trouble paying their child support. Including Referrals to Community partners to remove barriers and assistance with direct DCS services. DSHS Working Connections Child Care Helps families with low incomes pay for child care while they work or meet WorkFirst participation requirements. 4 1 CARES of Washington/BFET Services and programs to help individuals with disabilities and those experiencing distress from low income find and sustain employment and develop life skills. Worker Retraining Training available to unemployed workers who need to change careers in order to re-enter the workforce. WorkFirst & LEP Program Serving limited English speaking immigrants and refugees gain economic selfsufficiency through job training, job search, ESL, Work Supports and other social services. College Navigation Assistance with financial resources, developing educational pathways, tuition, job search and on-going coaching & support through college experience. EDUCATION Basic Food Employment & Training (BFET) Provides educational services, skills training, and other employment opportunities to Basic Food (SNAP) recipients who are not participating in the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) WorkFirst work program. Employment Security Department (ESD) Co-located Staff Assistance with job search, referral, and placement; determine eligibility for ESD programs such as tuition vouchers and verify student eligibility for worker retraining services. EDUCATION North Seattle College Workforce Education Provide Washington’s 34 community and technical colleges with the tools they need to give access to all of Washington’s residents to attain family wage jobs and adapt to future career requirements in Washington’s changing economy. Open Doors Youth Re-Engagement A dropout reengagement system that provides education and services to older youth, ages 16-21, who have dropped out of school or are not expected to graduate from high school by the age of 21. Opportunity Grant Program The Opportunity Grant helps low-income adults train for high-wage, high-demand careers. These careers provide a beginning wage of $13 per hour ($15 per hour in King County). Shoreline Community College Provides a wide spectrum of education and training programs including I-BEST programs for basic skills and English learners. They have short term certificate programs as well as 4 year degree programs. Training, Rehabilitation, Assessment, Consultation Associates (TRAC) – Healthcare Training Programs Provides vocational training, job retention, career advancement and outplacement. Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist Program An intensive program designed to prepare qualified individuals with the skills for production and machining of industry parts. DSHS: Division of Vocational Rehabilitation We provide individualized employment services and counseling to people with disabilities. North Seattle College Embedded Career Services Offering a multitude of resources for the journey from student to professional. Neighborhood House Helps diverse communities of people with limited resources attain their goals for self-sufficiency, financial independence, health, and community building EMPLOYMENT Seattle Education Access Provides higher education advocacy and opportunity to young people struggling to overcome poverty and adversity throughout King County. Business Services Provides assistance with business registration, employment law assistance, fair labor practices, tax incentives and tax credit information. Pacific Associates Assists in job search and career training. Also helps employers search for valuable employees.
