WEEK 2: RESPONSE TO CREATIVE WORK Read the creative work from Week 1 posted by other members of your group. Write a response to 3 different people’s work. Your responses are due on Wednesday, April 13. In your responses, focus on NOTICING what is happening in the poem or experiment – simply stating what is happening, without judging it. For example, you might say “I notice each stanza has 4 lines” or “words related to water and rain occur in almost every line” or “the lines are mostly short, until the very end of the poem.” Identify what you see happening in the poem. Look at the details. You might also say how you feel at different points as you read it. (“as I begin, I feel curious…” “at this point I’m confused about…” “this line gives me a feeling of sadness.” ) Avoid using evaluative terms (such as great/ awful/ excellent/ sucks/ boring/ fascinating). Stick with what you notice and how you feel for now.
