Activity 3
Look at the slides at all powers, following directions in your lab manual. Sketch and label following directions
below.
A. Compact Bone (slide #48 or #49) - Sketch at 100x or 400x
B. Decalcified bone (slide #52 or #50) – Sketch at 100x
1. This is a cross section of a whole bone. Therefore you should see bone marrow in the middle
(adipose cells present), compact bone, and also muscle.
Activity 4
Use slide #53. Sketch under 100x and compare to figure 9.5.
Attempt to label the zones of growth on your sketch.
