Week 2 Reading Response
After critically reading and annotating both the Hughes and Sanders narratives, address the
following two questions:
1) Choose ONE of the readings and explain what, to you, the story is about. Think about
overall ideas that you see represented in the narrative.
2) For the OTHER reading, what are three details you see in the narrative that help make
the story interesting or vivid for you? For each detail, write 2-3 sentences that attempt
to explain why or how that particular detail interests you. HINT: the Storytelling Notes
posted this week may help you address this question.
