Homework for Friday April 8th
 Do the workbook Exercise 1a and 1b pp 1-3
 Visit an “8 parts of speech” website on my facweb page. Find one with
exercises. Do a few!
 If you were absent yesterday, please do your own biography.
For Tuesday:
 Take the main idea sentences we wrote in class and write a paragraph
summary on the next part of the page. Use the noun clause language like
“The author says that…” and “The author reports that…”
 At the bottom of the page, write some ideas: WHAT DO YOU think about this
idea of being flexible and finding an in demand job? Do you agree? OR
should you follow your heart?
Homework for Thursday, April 14
Read the article on volunteering.
Do the comprehension check on the back.
Do the summary preparation on the back.
Please do NOT work ahead on your summary. Wait. Let’s share ideas and
talk, and THEN work on the summary/response
Homework for Friday April 15th
 Come to class tomorrow with your main ideas for the volunteering
article AND some of your reactions/feelings about that article.
 In the computer lab, we will write two paragraphs: a summary (first
paragraph) and reflection (second paragraph) of the article, and I will
give you a checklist to help you! Bring your drawings. It will help you.

Homework for Monday 25th
 Write about a holiday in your country. Just write! Double space. AND
THEN go back and edit. Try to make more compound and complex
sentences! Write about a half page or page. No organization is necessary!
Just write!
Tuesday April 26th
 Finish the worksheet I gave you with coordinating and correlative
conjunctions (6c)
 Do Workbook pp. 16-18. If you don’t have the workbook, it is ‘on reserve’
at the library. Go and ask the librarian for “Essentials of English
Workbook”. Then you can make copies!
There is NO CLASS on FRIDAY APRIL 29th
Homework for Monday, May 2nd
 Write your “Professions” paragraph and do the checklist. Please
double space! It’s ok to type or hand-write, but PLEASE double space.
 In your Essentials book, review pp. 40-41 and do p. 42 6d Practice A
and B.
 Do Exercise 6d in the Essentials workbook, p. 19
