Seattle and Los Angeles have similarities and differences regarding the
environment. First, both have mountains, but they are very different. Seattle has
mountain ranges, and they are closer to the city. While Los Angeles also has
mountains, they are not close to the city, and they have a lower elevation.
Additionally the air quality is different. Seattle is greener, so there is less pollution
than Los Angeles. Seattle also gets more rainfall, which washes dust away. Los
Angeles, on the other hand, is located in a bowl and pollution from traffic gets
trapped. Los Angeles does get rain, but not enough to reduce dust. Finally, both
cities deal with environmental issues. Residents of both LA and Seattle have
recycling programs, but in general, Seattle is very environmentally focused. In
conclusion, they are both beautiful cities trying to conserve their natural beauty,
but they differ in air quality and mountains.
