Employer Responsibilities regarding internships:
Partner with North Seattle Community College!
 Grant an internship that will allow students to
gain (a minimum) of 120 hours relevant to
their program of study
There are a number of ways that businesses and
organizations can support the community and
students at North:
 Encourage student learning through a hands
on, practical experience
 Serve as a mentor and source of information for
students
 Support students in learning objectives
relative to their program of study, created
for the specific internship opportunity
 Stay in communication with the internship
team
 Give feedback on student progress
 Participate in a panel of guest speakers in
classroom or campus events
 Review and critique student resumes, conduct
mock job interviews
 Share experiences relevant to the career
development of students
 Advocate for higher education at North in the
community
 Give a monetary or in-kind gift of equipment or
other need resources
