Attention all sophomores and Juniors who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better. The LAHS National Honor
Society is now accepting online applications. Go to the school webpage and check out the new online application. Be sure to
read the application carefully before beginning. There are various items you will need to complete before you submit your
final application. Remember, you will need two letters of recommendation. The letters of recommendation will also be online.
So, make sure to read carefully and ask your recommenders with sufficient time for them to respond. If you have questions,
see Senora Rodriguex in room 911. All applications are due by Wednesday, February 24th by 3:30pm. No late applications or
recommendations can be accepted.
School is all about preparing to be successful beyond school. Will you be successful and also be happy in life? If you’re
passionate and love what you do, chances are you’ll be successful and happy. Consider Ms. Satterwhite – she’s successful and
happy because she loves what she does! At Freestyle Academy, we offer you a chance to find and explore different passions in
Digital Film, Photography, Graphic Arts, Animation, Web Production and/or Audio Engineering for success and happiness
now and in the future. Join us with no experience in technology and we’ll teach you how to channel your passion and
effectively use technology in sophisticated ways to communicate your message and stories to the world. Interested Juniors and
Sophomores can apply online at http://www.freestyleacademy.rocks. Tri-fold brochures are also available in the counseling
office. Everyone is also invited to see lots of student work at our exhibition next Thursday evening at the Computer History
Museum. You could just consume what others produce. Or you could passionately create at Freestyle Academy what others
will consume. Join us to do what you love.
Seniors: If you have free/reduced lunch or have financial need, please file for financial scholarship for reduced-price Prom,
Senior Picnic, Grad Night, yearbook or cap & gown. Use the online application, "Senior Financial Scholarship," on the LAHS
homepage.
10th Graders--Your online course selection window for the upcoming school year will close this Friday. Please enter your
course requests in SIS by this Friday, February 5th. If you do not make you selections by this Friday, your counselor will be
choosing your courses for next year. Please see your counselor if you have any questions.
Students, this is a reminder that you MUST check your MVLA email every week! Many announcements, notices, and
important reminders come via email now... instead of a delivered note. Even better, forward your MVLA account to the email
you check most - a teacher can show you how!
Today, Stand Up to Cancer will be setting up a booth in the quad for World Cancer Day. Stop by to pick up a ribbon or
pamphlet. If you are wearing purple, you will get a free cookie!
The Computer and Programming Club will meet at lunch in room 723. Please bring your device.
Fall and Winter Athletes: It's time to get your registration in for this year's Color Run. Color Run is Saturday, March 26, and
you're registering two participants - for example, yourself plus a friend or family member. Use the Color Run Registration link
on the LAHS homepage.
There will be a Field Hockey meeting today at lunch in the small gym for all returners and anyone interested in going out next
season.
Today is the last home meet for the wrestling team. It is also senior night for the team and we want to fill the stands! Let’s send
these hard working seniors off with a bang. The JV Meet starts at 5:30, followed by Varsity at 6:30.
Girls interested in a Girls Golf Team next season, please stop in and see Mrs. Cave during brunch or lunch by Friday.
