This event is geared toward 10th and 11th grade students and parents. There will be workshops on many topics including Testing, Writing the Personal Statement, Intercollegiate Athletics, Visual and Performing Arts, Community Colleges, Recommendation Letters, Engineering, Financial Aid, Life-Changing Colleges, Out-of-State Public University Admissions, UCs, CSUs, and Private College Admissions. We also have a panel of LAHS seniors who will be speaking about their experiences during the various phases of the college process. Speakers will be from UC Berkeley, Stanford University, St. Mary's College, Santa Clara University, San Jose State University, Stapleton Education Consulting, Foothill College, Princeton Review, Northeastern University, Drew University, Franklin D. Olin College of Engineering, Oregon State University, California College of the Arts, De Anza College, and Drew University. Seniors – Sign up in the College and Career Center for the Latino Student Conference field trip held at De Anza College on Thursday, March 19th. It’s a fun-filled day with free prizes and food! We leave by bus from Los Altos High School and return by 2:30pm. For more details, please stop by to pick up a permission slip. Tuesday, March 10th Dr. Butler Hine, Chief Technologist for Engineering at NASA will be talking about his job and career. Thursday, Alexander Atkins, Atkins Design, learn how you can turn your creativity in design into a career. If you took Introduction to Computer Science last semester and are interested in attending a TEALS field trip to UCSF on Monday, March 23rd, please contact Ms. Yu by this Wednesday. Students will learn about Computer Science majors, listen to speakers, watch product demos, and do activities.
