The mangroves at Balandra have
been here for about 8000 years
At high tide…
The inner lagoon in the middle of
the forest is inaccessible by land
Accessible only by kayak through a
meandering channel
At low tide…
The same place at high tide…
The fallen leaves are the “fuel” that
run the ecology of the system
On the border between sea and land
This swamp forest is in great
shape
Best be keep it this way for future
generations
