o $18 or less for food per week so they have the rest for pizza cram
Interactive Web Management Club
 Nathan: are you taking a bus next week? And was that your quote
o Yes and Yes
 Only one 9 seat fleet vehicle, gas is included and so you may need to take a bus if
you need room for 30
o Okay thanks
FBLA-PBL
 Quin: are travel expenses for 2 conferences
o Actually 3; 2 in sate and 1 out of state
 What happens
o Fall is workshop based with speakers and tours. Spring is competitive it’s
a way to test your skills against other skills in the state. She personally is
not a business major. Nationals are even more competitive.
 Thomas: how many people to attend the speakers
o Approx.. 20-30 and make flyers so others can see they are coming to
o Conferences are only open to members but meetings are open to everyone.
This is because of fee for participation in conference.
PPM conversation
 Sarah: ’09 ppm we can operate off that or write a new one. We will be talking
about it before budget hearings on Monday and talk about strategy we would like
to pursue. Please come at 3:45 for discussion.
 Jim: will that be enough time?
o Sarah: we can push budget hearings a little
 Sarah: There are some cons such as the amount of time we will need to spend
time discussing and creating new ones. Therefore we will need to push
deliberations a few weeks.
Pre-Law
 Kurtis: travel. What benefit does the national to campus

o Takes students and puts them in front of representatives across the
country,
o Forums, speakers, then break into groups for workshops, then kind of like
a work fair where they can speak to representatives from schools that are
out of reach for our geographical location. They also get an application fee
waiver. Each student is recommended to apply to 10 schools and which is
about 500/student. This conference saves them $ and also they have grad
students there where students can ask them Qs
o
Nathan Kruger is there anything students bring back to campus
o Students that sit down with ad min board members can give advice to
other students. They also get a lot of paper info, brochures etc. that they
can share with other students that weren’t able to go
Sarah: included in fleet vehicles is gas so if you see an adjustment that is why.

PPM
 Sarah: quick vote of if people would rather meet at 3:30 to give us more time and
a potential break?
o Vote taken and people would like to meet at 3:30
Bowling
 Quin: Why 16 people?
o Both teams. Allowed 8 per team per max. 5 bowl and 3 alternates. Subs
are important because people can get injured
 Nathan k: are there others in club
o Yes everyone gets 2 free games a week and can try out for team
 Sarah: How do you pick tourneys
o If you don’t go to these you can’t collect power points. Power points arte
what brings you to sectionals and nationals
 You do you own tourney how do you pay for that
o They cover part and bowling alley covers the other part. It’s a fundraiser
for the club
 Explain Vegas
o Large tourney. 70-80 schools 140 teams. Bowl 4 days and 1 in between go
one early because of the weight of balls takes them longer to get there.
They have guidelines they need to follow and advisor goes too.
o
 Is there another tourney.
o One in Pennsylvania but it is over Christmas and it costs about the same
 Sarah: $60 per night for hotel in Vegas they gave a discount rate. 5 rooms at 7
nights
Oshkosh Disc Club
 Quin: travel: two longer trips. What is benefit to longer ones vs smaller
o We will be playing multiple courses and they are higher quality courses.
3-4 courses per long trip
 Nathan: how many tourneys do you go to? Are the Madison ones tourneys?
o The close ones are club outings and the tournements themselves we go to
10-15. They are on the weekend we replace the club outings for that week
with the tourney
 Sarah: Dues and memberships. It is per competitor basis. You don’t have to have
it to compete you just save money correct?
o Yes. It is more of an individual person sport.
Men’s Lacrosse
 Quin: how did you come up with the numbers of travel?
o Similar to last year. They are the amounts we paid last year
 Sarah: 1600 for nets?
o 200-300 a piece plus back up net.
 Immediately you need two new nets and extra in case they get ripped?
o yes
 New sticks
o Want this for new members so that they don’t need to buy equipment in
case they choose not to stick with it. Sticks are about $60.
 Cost of nets?
o ???
 Travel: gas covers some of it. And where does the rest of the 4500 go towards.
o Every weekend in spring except the home ones need hotels.
 Attendance to tourneys?
o 20-30. 10 on field and then sub in people constantly. Like to get as many
numbers as they can.
Spanish Club
 No questions
Economics Student Association
 Kurtis: Travel. What benefit does company tours bring
o Network with professionals. S=they show us how to work with supply and
demand. They get a bus so all students can go in one group. Usually
around 30 go.
 Why do you choose 30
o Usually have to have a cut off. The manufacturing facility can’t have 100
people running around there
 Sarah: how will you maximize the benefit
o People that go benefit. Of you want to go you have the opportunity. It’s
the people that take the initiative to go. They don’t really do al ot with the
rest of the club that doesn’t attend.
Psychology Club
 Kurtis: benefit of travel
o They learn about new types of treatment in Psych. They have an
opportunity to see it first hand. Able to talk to people and see what they do
and see the devices used.
 How do you bring it back to org
o Talk about it at next meeting. Share what they learn.
 Sarah: supplies. Just to clarify you are giving this food away not selling it.
o Correct. We are giving it away
Bio club
 Thomas: camping and fishing trip. Do you have an advisor
o Don’t have it fully planned out. We would like to but we are getting a new
advisor and they are not picked out yet so we don’t know yet
 Benefits of fishing trip
o For the fishing trip one of our members is into theology and can tell us
more about the bio diversity etc.
 Kurtis: benefit of Chicago trip
o People that are declared bio majors it helps them see what they can do
because job prospect for bio degree is hard. It also helps undeclared
majors see the diverse opportunities of a bio degree. Allows them to see
what it is and what it can do.

How are you bringing Chicago trip back to campus
o Next meeting give perspectives and slide show of what they did and tell
them what bio can do for them
 Sarah: specifically what museums are you going to
o Field, shed, planetarium, science and industry
 How does planetarium fit it
o Costs less to get a city pass than admission to three museums. So they are
going to the museums related to bio first and then with remaining time go
to others included in past
 Field museum
o Exhibitions of various animals and people that live in various areas.
History Club
 Thomas: how do you come up with 800 for travel
o Conservative estimate. We have 40 members now and also have faculty
 Kurtis: selling popcorn or giving it away
o Still in discussion may give it away of sell for 25 cents for a very small
profit
 Why have 40 go rather than 20
o Because then they cut the club membership in half. It is a close enough
location that we should be able to take the club to enjoy the history of WI
 How do you bring it back to campus
o We now have 40 people that can write a paper or take photos and now we
have diff aspects of it and people see things a diff way helps them to
enrich the campus
College Dems
 Sarah: if we had to restrict members to conferences how would you
o Five people because that has one car one hotel
 Which five get to go
o Only full members can go. Full member after you attend 3 consecutive
meetings. If you went to last conf you wouldn’t get to go to another conf
until everyone has been to a conf
 Do you work with republicans
o Worked together on sept 11 memorial. They have debate meetings. 5-10
min presentation trying to be as unbiased as they can.
 Kurtis: what benefit do you take back to campus from conf
o Skills based conferences. Training sessions on how to run for office and
run a campaign. Collaborating and networking with other college dems
and other elected officials are there too.
o Brought back to campus by doing seminars. Talk at regional summit.
o Currently paying for things out of pocket until they get a one-time request.
Creative Writers Society
 Sarah: t-shirt benefits
o Use markers to write on t-shirts and write prose all around it and intrigue
new members. Some members are not English majors and they drop out of
club around exam times. Having a shirt helps them to feel a[part of
something
 81 for t-shirts?
o That also includes the cost of folders and notebooks used at taste of osh
Wildlife Conservation Fund
 Sarah: Domestic books. Polk has a request system for books why are you not
going through that
o We looked to implement the journals in polk but they haven’t yet.
o A lot of students don’t use the resources in the library. The ones the lib has
are not the specific ones they are interested in.
SPJ
 Nathan Kruger: dues are what you have to pay each year of if go to convention
o We only have to pay if we go to the convention
 Kurtis: benefit of conference

 Bring back to rest of org?
o Talk about it in meetings and inform the other members of what happened
there
SOFA
 Nathan Kruger: are supplies cost per person or total meeting
o How much entire meeting will cost. Attendance is between 10-20
 How many meetings per semester and average meeting cost
o One meeting per week each semester. Averaged out probably about 50 per
week.
o Oil painting for example we would use those supplies again and carry
them over to other meetings
o Our supplies closet is dwindling we are trying to stack it up again
 Sarah: Averaged your costs at 70 per meeting
o Brief break down. Building up supplies costs more. We also offer different
projects out of our closet if they are not into the project of the week
 Kurtis: What do they benefits of travel have on campus


o People are not always able to travel to museums or galleries. And this
would give them the opportunity to get to know more people on campus
and create an environment where people can feel comfortable.
Sarah: travel breakdown where does the 12 come from. Do you mean 10 or 12?
o typo
Jim: the art dept takes trips?
o Limited number of seats but trip is through art history. Its tough to get on
the bus to the trip. People get discouraged by art majors that are better
than them etc. This is a good opportunity for people to get more involved
in the art world.
OCC
 Thomas: advertising and printing and duplicating. Is that the same thing
o Ad and notice is more getting a contract with npr to announce concerts.
Printing and dupl is for posters around campus
 Kurtis: what is the benefit does going to Chicago have on campus community and
attending live new music concerts and why 12 people
o When we are exposed to new music in professional field it opens us up to
more ideas and then we can use that for compiosing and shre that with
cmpaus community
 Tom:
o We asked for funds for two diff trips. These were just two groups we
thought of that are spearheading the new music scene
 Sarah: dues and memberships. What benefit bring to org
o Member of this sci we get discounts for conferences and helps us to be
updated the put out bimonthly newsletters
 12 people per conference but 10 getting sci dues. Why are they paying a higher
price
o planning for two faculty mems and they are already part of sci
 regards to recording session how is that worked out
o each composer deemed mature enough for recordings or older members
that need a recording for grad school. But we want to include everyone in
those sessions.
 Tom: Misc. for services it says 500 and in narrative it says 250 is that typo
o Yet should be 500
 Under supplies 100 and 200 typo?
o 200 is correct amt
 Sarah: services and professional. UWO wire what is 1500 going towards
o Brings in professional composer. Big thing in new music is featuring
electronics. This allows campus to get their feet wet with sounds they may
not normally hear. This is open to the entire campus and then they have a
concert of the composer’s music. This is their total fee
 Looks like visiting composer event happens twice
o Yes once per semester. And in addition to wired
 Is this the fee you generally are finding.
o Yes but it depends where they are coming from

Org: 250 fee for Midwest conference is actually for per person. 250x4=1000

o People delete emails and don’t always read them.
Couldn;t it be chaearoer to put flyers around campus
o Trying to reach students that are not on campus
Thomas: dues and memberships. Benefits of being a part of these
o It is a professional chapter for grad students so it is mostly for networking
opportunities
Kurtis: Travel. Benefits of this to org and how many people are in your org. it also
says you have to have 7 students to be in chapter but only bringing 4 to
conferences so what are you gaining
o Midwest conf is biggest conf in Midwest usually held in big city in mid

o We use it for presentations, and we use it at every meeting
Can you use one of your members computer
o We are currently using grad studies office laptop…
Sarah: how do you choose what 4 attend Midwest conf
o Hasn’t been decided yet. Want to form diff commetties in GSA to held
decide some of these things. And to decide what we want to do.
o We had three days from date of recognition to creating this budget so
these are just estimates
F
o Most grad students are not on campus anymore so we are just using a
location close to everyone.

 Misc supplies intention
o In the past need markers, office supplies, big flip pads, etc.
 Welcome back picnic invites benefit of mail than email or posters around campus
o Most is through emails but also they send out a post card to newer
students. Because it takes place so early in the school year they aren’t
familiar with their emails. And they aren’t on campus during summer so
they don’t see posters. Because they spend so many they get a discount
and some of that cost is also offset by the nontradit student office

 Quin: what happens at those conferences
o Guest speakers that talk about 4H and how to keep developing leadership
skills
o This year Osh is holding North central regional conference. A lot of
stundents coming from Kansas, Ohio and Dakotas. Uniform with what
happens at most conferences. Ice breaker, volunteering event, tour (larger
farm), sessions. Each student is offered two sessions to choose from.
Things that are useful in club and time in college and in a career. The rest
