Chinese Culture Club
 Sarah: look at travel everything else looks standard
 Quinn: they don’t mention number of nights they just say rentals
o Generally a projector costs about $12
 Thomas just give them Chicago and cut stevens point
 Cal: that conflicts with field trips
 Joe: this is coincides with their club
 Sarah: to me it seems stevens point may be more beneficial
 Quinn: yeah
 Cal: both sound like good experiences
 Tom: we have to prioritize in state travel?
o Sarah: I think we just have to look at what has better value
 Quinn: they are just different experiences. Just to point that out
o
 Motion by Quinn to approve just giving them 126 for travel second by tom
o 6-0-0
Speech and debate
 Tom: supplies seems like 500 might by high for what they are asking for. Since
they have 10 people on the team. I move to change that to 250
 Quinn: big one is travel. People should not be factored in to three if its 2-3. We
should calculate for two.
 Kurtis: I have a note that they need to go to more outside ones because in state are
decreasing
 Tom: We don’t know which are essential and which are not
 Sarah: they are also including three meals a day included in travel.
 Quinn: can we limit to two and base it on that.
 Sarah: are we still limiting the food for travel.
o Joe: competitive food was different.
 Sarah: what do we think is an appropriate number for travel.
 Joe: I am hesitant to cut this too much because they do compete a lot.
 Tom: the ones listed are guaranteed and there are more if they qualify. And when
they are in WI they use their own transportation
 Sarah: all of this is covered by allocations and students pay nothing. I think we
need to decide what happens when it comes to competitive travel. And when they
don’t break it down like we told them to at managers meeting we can do what we
see fit.
 Tom: what is the break down for how much over our budget is?
 Sarah: if we look now we have problems if we go over and we need to make
across the board cuts it is more fair if we make our choices without knowing.
 Nathan: I think you guys are on the right pace.
 (Back to supplies)
 Quinn: they are going to 12 things.
 Sarah: 325 how does that sound
 Joe: motion to approve as is second by Quinn

Scheduling for next semester. Send out doodle.
Budget deliberations for next semester. We will probably need to do longer meetings.
Lutheran Student Movement and Oshkosh One
 Joe: what is 30,000
o revenue
 Sarah: we are not supposed to fund for community members. So the food being
for the community is something to keep in mind.
 Sarah: travel yes or no
o Quinn: its just a retreat there is no training or anything.
o
 Tom: printing and dublicating can we give them 75
o Everyone good
o Sarah: cut postage because we are not funding mailings
o
 Sarah: adjust food for covering just students. Maybe cut it in half. 2 food meetings
for 50 people. Give them 200
 Quinn: weren’t we talking about doing 2 per semester. If we follow that it would
be a lot less.
 Sarah: 50 for food.
 Kurtis: I feel like cutting to 50 is pretty low.
 Reggie: that feels to low. At least 200
 Sarah: they are estimating the value of each meal at 25 and 2 meals per semester
comes to 50.
o That is the general thing we decided unless it is cultural.
 Nathan: and it is for the community to.
 Sarah: are we good with 50 then
o yes
 Cal: if we say 50 is that for both?
o The share with each other.
o They do a lot of cooperative events
 Motion by Thomas second by kurtis to pass budget with cut to travel, and freight.
Reduce printing and duplicating to $75 and food to $50
o 4-1-0

Motion by Quin to approve Oshkosh one for the same. Second by Megan
o 4-1-0
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
 Calvin: is this a UWO sport
o No but they are still representing UWO to some extent
 Sarah: individual admission entries, and food seems inflated. And why do they
need 3-4 cars for 10 people going.
o Nathan: equipment.
 Calvin: I don’t see any UWO representation with the group. It just seems like they
are going to the tournament and competing individually and no mention of UWO
 Sarah: combat corner total price to 790 and Naga to 1650 and cut International
Chicago
o Food for travel should be included in travel
 Food for end of year banquet to 200 for ten dollars per person.
 Reggie: if it is 200 and 400 for misc.
o Sarah: they put it in the wrong place
o
 1440 for travel and food at 200 motion by megan second by Thomas.
o 5-0-2
The English Club
 Quinn: we want 500 to spend on speakers to join with other clubs what are we
doing about that
o Sarah: they should come back when they know what they are doing
o
 Misc expenses should be cut.
 Supplies 800. I am hesitant to send that much on books.
 Quinn: It is in the nature of the club
 Reggie: and if they donate the books then it is recycled
 Sarah: I don’t have a problem with the estimate but it comes back to personal use.
Even if you are donating it what are the chances that it is coming back to the
students.
 Reggie: they have a book they can use it to reference
 Megan: we didn’t fund karate uniforms and they were keeping them for 4 years.
And these books are only for one semester
 Calvin: they can go to University Books and more are they selling them back?
 Reggie: I would be in favor of cutting the service professional for 1000 to keep
supplies.
o Sarah: that is a little shakey.
 Sarah: I think we should cut the supplies by 600 and not fund the books
themselves.
 Quinn: I like the karate uniform logic.
 Sarah: change supplies to 200
 Sarah: I think the read a thon is a bit aggressive in their estimates. 100 people
spending the day writing seems high
 Reggie: I think 300 for the whole thing.


Thomas: that is assuming 30 people show up
Quinn: I have a note that says 15-20 people.
o They hope that is their club membership next year
 Cut postage and freight.
 Sarah: reduce prizes.
 Thomas: a previous club we gave them 8-10 for a prize.
 Megan: 40 for prizes.
 Calvin: what is the incentive to participate in read and write a thon?
o A prize that they haven’t determined yet
 Thomas: 75 total for prizes
 Services misc. cut, services internal cut, supplies reduced to 200, food reduced to
300, cut postage, reduce prizes to 75
o 3675 total
 Motion by Thomas to pass as stated by Sarah and seconded by Kurtis
o 6-0-1
Women’s Advocacy Council
 Sarah: start with travel
 Reggie: I think the summer institute should be a one time request because it
depends on them getting in
 Sarah: service misc. along same lines as last club so cut it.
 Kurits: well it says who they are co sponsoring.
 Keep that in
 The two cartridges is a nice sentiment but I think that should be coming from tech
fees.
 Kurtis: I think that is because the women’s center lets them use supplies.
 Thomas: that is nice but that isn’t really allocations.
 Quinn: can that be shared with them that they should go to tech fees for that
 Take the 872.12 off
 Food,
 Quinn: 200 per semester to go out with the key note speakers
 Sarah: cut it in half to comply with the 2 food meeting and reduce to 5 people like
we did for speaker series
 Cut personal expenses
 Travel 395, reduced supplies to 468, food to 400, and cut misc expenses.
 Motioned by Kurtis second by Thomas

Pagan Student Allience
- Kurtis: not structured, think we should cut travel
- Nathan Agrees
- Sarah asks how is this different from Chinese Culture club expedition which we
fund?
- Various: seems more like a field trip
- Nathan: they could do it on campus
- Calvin: new request
- Kurtis: it would be different if they had a more concrete itinerary
- Sarah: benefit per dollar is low when compared to Chinese Culture Club
- Quin: one day trip…why do they need cabin?
- Leadership retreat
- Sarah: what if we paid for gas just for the cultural part since we’re not really
covering leadership retreats
- Motion by Kurtis to cut travel to $180 and Services professional to $30
- Seconded by Thomas
- 4-1-1
JOE RETURNS

- ???please refer to recording???
- Reggie: cut overhead projector
- Sarah: think they use it to skype with the artist
- Cut maintenance and repairs, cut supplies to $1000, cut equipment and furniture
(either rent or go to tech fees), cut miscellaneous expenses
- Calvin: don’t think this is really a student org
- Nathan: we’ll contact OSA about it

duplicating

Model UN
- Quin: travel is huge portion of budget
- Sarah: well done budget, doesn’t seem to be a lot of fluff, but if there is a variable
cost it seems to be the cost per student registration fee
- Quin: logic seems to stand that we could play a smaller country with fewer
individuals and remain competitive
???check recording???
- Calvin: don’t personally want to be involved because of past allocations
circumstances
- Thomas: I came from france to Oshkosh for MUN
- Kurtis: do the students pay anything
- Sarah: competitive travel and we haven’t really talked about cutting it
- Quin: baggage fees
- Kurtis: have there been individual student registration fee
- Sarah: printing and duplicating seems high and so do subscriptions
- Quin: but maybe they need that..then again they could maybe scan and keep it
virtual
- Quin moves to approve as is, seconded by reggie
- 4-0-2
Thomas moves to adjourn, seconded by kurtis, unanioums
