Late last night, in a field close to the local Duck pond in Strangeville, were a collection of unusual happenings which have amazed even the local residents. The evening began with a Cat sitting quietly in the field. It looked at first sight that the cat was alone, however, on closer inspection it was noticed that she was actually in the company of a strange looking fiddle. The fiddle was softly playing gentle music while the Cat sung a sweet melody. A little later in the evening a dog and a cow were seen arriving in the field together, and it is believed that the dog challenged the cow to jump over the moon. The cow summoned up its greatest strength and jumped to the best of its ability, clearing the moon by quite a margin. During this entertaining episode a Duck sat on the local Duck Pond amazed by all the goings on. “It was an amazing sight” he quacked, “to see such a big, clumsy animal as a cow leap so high over the moon. It was incredible!” The strange events came to an end when the Little dog who had earlier challenged the Cow, began to laugh hysterically and then a Dish and a Spoon were spotted running from the scene together. Peace and order were restored on the field as daylight rose.
