Researcher Development Funding 2016 CAREER INTERRUPTION SUPPORT SCHEME Expression of Interest This funding supports researchers (a) returning to work after a period of necessary personal leave or a career break, which could include health issues or family responsibilities. It is designed to help re-establish research relationships, partnerships and projects that may have lapsed or been put on hold as a result of a specific career break. (b) who are currently on family or carer leave (for a period of more than three months) to access funds to continue their research while on leave. The package will provide support of up to $10,000 per successful applicant to support travel, pilot studies, teaching buyouts or research translation. Significance, Innovation and Impact o Describe how the research is significant and whether the research addresses an important problem. Describe how the anticipated outcomes will advance the knowledge base of the discipline or will lead to new knowledge, practice or policy more broadly (this can be aspirational with this project as a foundation piece for further research). Indicate how and why the project aims, concepts, approach (methodological or technical) are novel and innovative. Detail the relationships that will be developed as a result of this Grant. Approach and Methodology o Outline the conceptual framework, design and methods and demonstrate that these are adequately developed, well integrated and appropriate to the aims of the project. Your methodology should articulate how the impact of your research will be realised (eg. Claims of policy impact must be underpinned by strategies and activities that ensure stakeholder, policy maker and/or practitioner engagement such as reports and white papers, meetings, workshops etc).
