Pneumatic transit via tube and air? 1970- UNM proposed to the city the first pneumatic transit system in the world. Tanya Landin Air Powered Cars Compressed air and 8 gallons of fuel= 800 to 1000 miles. Zero Pollution Motors based in India has created the Air Car. Soon to be in the United States for about $20K. The air car can tool along at a top speed of 35 mph for some 60 miles Tanya Landin Solar Powered Cars Created in the 1970’s the solar cars use Photovoltaic cells that convert the sun’s energy into electric energy. Need to be made of lightweight materials. Solar panels are being made to store energy so cars can be driven at times when there is no sun.
