TWO TC STUDENTS NAMED TO NATIONAL HONOR BAND
Temple College music majors Erin Kutschbach and Mark Mertins have been selected to
perform with the National Collegiate Honor Band as part of the 2001 College Band Directors
Association's Conference.
Ms. Kutschbah and Mertins were selected from more than 200 applications from 65 institutions
in 25 states. Kutschbach is a flute student of Sheryl Goodnight and Mertins is a percussion
student of Dr. Stephen Crawford.
Dr. Crawford, TC's director of bands and percussion studies, will serve as the percussion
coordinator of the entire honor band festival which will be held at the University of North Texas
Feb. 21-24. This is the second time in four years that he has been appointed to this position.
The National Collegiate Honor Band concert will be held on Saturday, Feb. 24, at the
Murchison Performing Arts Center on the UNT campus. Allan Murray, director of bands at the
University of Colorado, will be the conductor of the honor band.
