Warden Bell Jordan Unit 1992 Hilton Rd. Pampa, TX 79065 Dear Warden Bell, My name is Talma Botts, I spoke to you on the phone before Christmas about inmate Stephen Dwight #1182426. He was a former student of mine at Temple College in Temple, Tx. He contacted me several months ago excited about a new job he had there but was concerned that he was losing his computer skills. He ask if we had any books that we were not using that I might consider sending him. I found books that would help keep his skills up to date and mailed them to him, making sure that Temple College was on the return address label. He said that he would not be allowed to have the books otherwise. I got a letter from him after the books arrived saying that he still could not get the books. When I talked to you, you suggested that I mail a letter of explanation to Huntsville, which I did. I just received another letter from Stephen thanking me for all my efforts but that he was still not allowed to have the books. I was hoping that there was something that you could do to help make this happen. They are only computer textbooks talking about word processing, spreadsheet, data base, and presentation packages. Stephen was a good student and I truly believe his only motive is to keep his computer skills up to date. Our field changes so rapidly that anyone wishing to continue using computers effectively must keep their skills current. If there is anything you can do in this situation, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Talma Botts, Ed.D.
