CRIMINAL JUSTICE The Criminal Justice Technology program is designed to meet the needs of persons seeking employment or promotion in public and private law enforcement and correction’s agencies. Students in the criminal justice program will be equipped to enter into the wide-open field of Criminal Justice at the federal, state, county and private levels. The Temple College Criminal Justice Program will prepare the student to enter the criminal justice field by providing three options. These options will allow the student to satisfy his or her educational needs. MISSION STATEMENT The primary mission of The Temple College Criminal Justice Department is to provide educational opportunities that will allow the student the ability to achieve their career goals. This is accomplished in a twofold manner: 1) delivering quality criminal justice education that provides the student with the basic knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to begin a career in criminal justice, and 2) provide each student with the knowledge and ability to develop career contacts in his or her chosen field. Option I Certificate of Completion/ Peace Officer Certification Upon completion of the Option I course requirements a student will be eligible to apply to take the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Education peace officer licensing examination. Option II Associate of Applied Science Degree in Criminal Justice Completion of Option II will allow students to pursue the following Criminal Justice career opportunities.
