Provide supervision to graduate clinicians in Speech-Language Pathology. Provide clinical services and
supervision at NAVE Language Center and ETSU Speech Language and Hearing Clinic.
Independent Contractor-Talk Back, Inc., Johnson City, TN-May 2014-January 2015. Provided speechlanguage pathology services to pediatric population in clinic, school, home, and daycare settings.
Wolfson’s Children’s Hospital (Baptist Health): Baptist Clay, Fleming Island, FL-July 2012-September
2013. Part-time pediatric outpatient SLP. Provided assessment and treatment to a variety of disorders
(apraxia, dysarthria, aphasia, dysphagia) and diagnosis (cleft palate, VPI, Di George syndrome, CP, ASD,
TBI, Treacher Collins syndrome, down syndrome, hearing impairment, short-gut syndrome, etc). Worked
alongside OTs and PTs providing multidisciplinary care to both speech/language (11 months to 18 years of
age) and feeding populations (x 6 months to 7 years of age)
All Children’s Hospital John’s Hopkins Medicine: Outpatient clinic Fort Myers, FL-May 2010 to June 2012
Full-time pediatric outpatient SLP. Worked alongside OTs, PTs, ABA and Audiologists to evaluate/treat a
variety of disorders including fluency, language, AAC, reading/spelling disorders (including dyslexia), APD,
childhood apraxia of speech (PROMPT), dysphagia; as well as diagnosis: TBI, cleft palate, Down syndrome,
seizure disorders, syndrome disorders, etc). Completed specialized trainings to become “Feeding Specialist.”
Completed all required readings/video tapes in pediatric dysphagia as well as began co-evaluations and cotreatment sessions. Completed all pre-requisites for Auditory Based Care (assessing/treating children with
hearing impairment/cochlear implants). Mentored new employees in oral motor evaluation/treatment and
autism spectrum/SI techniques.
DMC-Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Macomb Rehabilitation Center, Detroit, MI -November 2007February 2010- Part-time pediatric outpatient clinical SLP. Worked as part of multidisciplinary team (OT,
PT) to provide rehabilitative services to pediatric population (birth-22). Provided assessment and treatment
for a wide variety of disorders/delays (apraxia, aphasia, dysarthria, dysphagia) and diagnosis (autism
spectrum, CP, TBI, cleft palate, Down syndrome, cochlear implant, multiple syndrome disorders, seizure
disorders). Complete comprehensive speech-language evaluations as member of hospitals Autism Center of
Excellence (CHACE) team. Member of continuing education committee for the hospital and rehab site.
June 2009 -Instructor for Peer Instructed Course-Prerequisites of Normal Development ages 3.0-6.11
along with OT and PT’s (full day course). Clinical Supervisor for Staff CFY and Master’s level speech
pathology interns. Wrote grants for specialty therapies including therapeutic listening and Fast ForWord.
Special Interests: Autism, Dysphagia, Sensory Integration.
Baker College of Clinton Township, MI- Winter Term 2009, Spring Term 2009 -Adjunct Instructor for
Bachelor level course in College of Education (Early Childhood Education Department). Course included
cognitive, physical, and social-emotional milestones from conception through adolescents.
Ochsner Clinic Foundation, New Orleans, LA –July 2006- October2007—Full-time Outpatient SLP
providing restorative services to both pediatric and adult populations. Member of the hospitals
Craniofacial Team, in-training for VPI and Cochlear Implant teams. Provided comprehensive initial
evaluations, pre-implant, and therapy after implantation. Provided therapeutic services to a wide population
(neonatal-adult) including dysphagia, feeding aversions, hearing impairment, cochlear implant (hospital
regional cochlear implant center), autism spectrum, CP, dysarthria, aphasia, apraxia, TBI. Provided in-patient
coverage as needed, including acute coverage from NICU to ICU. Provided in-service on Vital Stim to
Communication Disorders Department and in-service to local Pediatrician’s office on roles of SLP. Wrote
grant for hospital to purchase Fast ForWord learning products. Training to perform pediatric MBS’
independently.
Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, Lafayette, LA -July 2003- April 2006—Full-time outpatient
SLP to pediatric through adult population including: Modified Barium Swallow tests, dysphagia (adult and
pediatric), dysarthria, therapeutic listening, SI techniques, and cognitive therapy to a variety of clients at the
hospital and MS clinic. Member of Professional Development Committee targeted implementing career
ladder for ST/OT/PT and coordinating continuing education at hospital. Clinical supervisor for a staff
CFY. April 2003-July 2003. Full-time PRN (Maternity Coverage)-Provided acute and inpatient rehab
diagnostic and therapeutic services to primarily adult population in 288 bed hospital. Restorative services
included: dysphagic, dysarthric, TBI, CA, trauma, and trach/vent patients.
Gay Hess Speech and Learning Center, Lafayette, LA August 2002 –March 2003—Full-time SLP.
Rendered structured language based therapy to primarily school age/adolescent population. Center diagnosed
dyslexia and other language based learning disabilities as well as providing therapy targeting: reading
comprehension, written expression, phonemic awareness, and narrative discourse.
Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital, Greenville, SC June 2001-August 2002—Full-time. Worked at Center for
Developmental Services alongside PT and OT's providing multidisciplinary outpatient pediatric services to
children, aged 0-19, with special needs including: cerebral palsy, autism, developmental delays, hearing
impairment, blindness, CAPD, apraxia, as well as providing pragmatic language therapy at local girls home.
PRN Acute Adults- November 2001-August 2002 Worked weekends (Acute and inpatient rehab) diagnosing
