Benchmarking in Health Informatics
8th October 2008 10:30am – 3:30pm
Holiday Inn, Taunton, M5 Jct 25, TA1 2UA
BENCHMARKING - NATIONAL DRIVERS,
NATIONAL AND LOCAL INITIATIVES, FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS
There is an increasing interest across the NHS in the need for consistent and standardised
benchmarks for IM&T / Information / IT / ICT services – collectively referred to as Informatics
Services. The focus of this event is to provide you with an update on both national and local
initiatives to develop benchmarking criteria and show you how these can be translated for your
Informatics Service, whether this is Information only, Information and IT, in-house, external,
shared etc. This event will be of interest to both customers of Informatics Services and all types
of service providers.
The recent Health Informatics Review report promised to:
“Develop mechanisms for providing assurance about informatics services,
processes and people.”
This event will show you:
 Ways in which this will be achieved
 What progress has been made to date
 The plans for future convergence of different initiatives.
In order for IM&T departments, IT Teams and other types of informatics service providers to
retain and develop their internal or external customer base, they increasingly need to demonstrate
that they are:




Delivering effective services which are
Providing value for money and
Supported by qualified and suitably experienced staff
In an assured environment compliant with national and international standards.
ASSIST and Tribal Consulting have arranged this one day conference designed to raise awareness
of current benchmarking initiatives and future planned developments. This is supported by your
local SHA and CFH team.
