Description of Business Environment:
A Global Supply Chain Trainee is required to join the Global Supply Chain Organisation
based in Whiteley. The successful candidate will join a team charged with the ownership
of all supply chain activities for the IS&GS UK business, including management of
existing suppliers, capture of new business opportunities and procurement activities
related to the acquisition of general goods and services to meet schedule, quality and
cost objectives. In this role the trainee will work within all three areas of the Global
Supply Chain organisation; Procurement, Supply Chain Management and New Business
capture teams.
Specific Job Description:
Responsible for conducting and supporting procurement activities related to the
acquisition of general goods and services to meet schedule, quality and cost objectives.
Responsibilities include, developing and implementing purchasing/sourcing strategies in
conjunction with the project management team to satisfy objectives; negotiating nonstandard terms and purchase agreements as required to meet set objectives; supporting
the department in related activities throughout the procurement life cycle.
