Chief Nuclear Training Officer - Subject to Contract Award Job Reference: LM People Job Code/Title: Location: Programme / Functional Group: MST11764 L1466I / Chief Nuclear Training Officer - STC Gloucester MST LT - Horizon Description of Business Environment: This position is responsible for leading a team that will eliver a multi phased programme to train commercial nuclear operators and technicians for a new generation of Nuclear Power stations. The programme will adopt a systematic approach to training and will include the following disciplines/roles; Human Performance Engineering, Curriculum Development, development and use of Advanced Simulation Products/Training Aids, Courseware development, Training and Education delivery and Trainee management. Some travel within the UK is highly likely and the role will also include some international travel. A flexible approach to working hours is required in order to accommodate international time zone differences during programme meetings and reviews. Specific Job Description: The role is comprehensive of: • Provide overall technical direction and guidence related to nuclear regulatory compliance for a Systematic Approach to Training. • Technical dIrection for all phases of new training development, which entail both bespoke projects and large program enhancements, from opportunity qualification to contract award. • Participate in the negotiation of contract, and contract changes, as well as memorandums of understanding and teaming/partnering arrangements. • Supports customer activity realated to development program activities, program review sessions with the customer associated with cost, schedule, and technical performance. • Establishes and maintains relationships with key partners on the programme • Embracement and practice of a Nuclear Culture of Safety. • Advocate for nuclear training effectiveness. • Ensure the training centre’s curriculum, instructional content, training equipment and training processes are in accordance with recognized nuclear standards and best practices. • Maintain the training centre’s instructional and training efficacy. • Serve as the prime representative for Lockheed Martin with nuclear industry organizations (e.g., INPO, WANO, EPRI) • Responsible for coordinating and implementing Lockheed Martin STEM initiatives in Wales Required Skills: Proven performance and broad experience within the Nuclear Power industry to include nuclear power generation or propulsion operator experience. Possesses knowledge of relevant domestic and international nuclear power regulations, codes and standards to include their application in the UK. Experience in coordinating/implementing project plans. Strong interpersonal skills, leadership qualities and presentation/ communication skills. Ability to confidently present materials to peers, customers and senior Lockheed Martin leadership. Experience leading multi-disciplined teams through the development of courseware, education artefacts, software modules, and hardware elements in order to deliver a comprehensive training and accreditation environment. • Experience in supporting nuclear regulatory reviews. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Ensures analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Directs the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Manages the functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Typical Minimum Education & Experience: Ideally require Bachelors degree from an accredited college and capability typically achieved through extensive professional experience.
