Parents,
I am in the process of grading students’ board and reports. I will be sending their boards
home this week. Once again, I am so proud of their hard work and creativity. Last week,
we introduced our first reading about the effects of feeding wild animals. We worked on
using context clues to find the meaning of our vocabulary words. Our class worked on the
process of planning before you write an essay. We walked through creating a topic sentence
and conclusion. We developed our sentences in mini paragraphs. In math, we continued
with Geometry and introduced open shapes vs. closed shapes. We also began learning about
homophones.

May 2nd and May 3rd: LA CAASPP testing
May 6th and May 9th: Math CAASPP testing
May 13th and May 17th: Math Performance Task CAASPP testing
May 16th-20th: Book Fair
May 19th: Open House
May 20th: Last SRI testing.
