Tenaja Canyon is an independent study program designed for grades 1 through 12 who are independent learners looking for a long term program. Tenaja is not a credit recovery or remedial program. Tenaja uses the same curriculum as the other MVUSD schools. Students who are enrolled in the independent study program report to their teacher once a week to turn in and receive work. High school students who are enrolled in Tenaja may be co-enrolled in up to two classes at one of the MVUSD high schools. If you are interested in applying to Tenaja and are currently attending one of MVUSD’s schools you will need to meet with your counselor or assistant principal to get the application and appropriate paperwork. Once you have a completed application, you can turn it in to the Tenaja office for processing. If you don’t currently attend one of our district’s schools, you can pick up an application at 24150 Hayes Ave. Murrieta, Ca. or print one out from this website. All applicants will need their test scores, discipline record, attendance record a short letter explaining your desire to attend an independent study program. High school students will need their current transcript.
