Coordinator Swenson: if we pose it as an option I don’t see it
as being feasible, can’t change state law
Senator Blosser: I do understand the rational, but true we cant
change state law, since it is kind of a survey thing
Chair Johnson: Should they tighten the reigns, gives students
different view point, simply a poll
Senator Sikorski: more information we can collect the easier it
is to state a case, no harm in asking it
Senator Ronning: Call to question
Second
Amendment Passes
Chair Robinson: this is simply a survey, should we allow the
students to answer this survey
Call to Question
Senator Schnoor: can see a biased to the first question
Senator Sikorsky: are we allowed on the survey is it only
multiple choice?
I think keeping it the way it is will make it easier to get results,
asking for statistics, give them a yes or no it is clear
Chair Johnson: question one is the current policy, with yes or
no it does allow both sides of the spectrums
Senator Manning: Move to change question one to do you
agree

a. Last Call for Business : Move to read in student bill of rights
SG Resolution 005
We have to vote whether or not to suspend operating procedures
Chair Robinson: is there a reason?
Answer: Wants an official stance, a lot of schools are leaning in our
directions
Senator Fisher: exact same thing we voted on a week ago, now we are
making an official MSUSA stance
Call to Question
Seconded
All in favor of suspending operating procedures
Coordinator Swenson: we would have to go against a MnScu policy
Senator Manning: What are we not allowed to do?
Coordinator Swenson: take an official stance, MSUSA is a representing
body of all universities, its conflicting, I would suggest striking it
Senator Phillips: if they don’t like it don’t we have some time?
I think its good to get something in because it is due
Senator Sikorsky: any way we can adjust it later on?
President Gunnerson: Yes, at delegates
Chair Gutsch: We can’t discuss it next week
Coordinator Swenson: we can mend it until delegates, process gets
harder, I know it will be an issue id suggest striking it
President Gunnerson: We can continue to talk and amend it until
delegates but you could strike it out tonight and do more research and at
delegates you can add it back in
Chair Johnson: She has a lot of experience in this position with MSUSA
take her word, we as a school need to be comfortable with what we want
to present to MSUSA, the less aggressive we come off the more likely
others will agree, whatever we pass should be what we are comfortable
with
President Gunnerson: I understand where coordinator Swenson is
coming from, MSUSA will represent us regardless, however were you
appointed Phillips to serve on your committee? Could they still supply
students from committees, could we send someone on our behalf? Maybe
we throw that in there
Coordinator Swenson: committee gave a seat to that body, it would be up
to the committee to accept a student not in the group
Senator Phillips: I know there is a girl not going to school anymore, and
could be enrolled
Senator Sikorsky: what can we do to make it more reasonable
Senator Ronning: yield to 5 minute caucus
Senator Drinkwine: universities can have the different stance but
MSUSA will represent them
4 clause struck out last clause
Any individual university with a stance that is not the same as MSUSA
resreves the right to supply students to CTF implantation teams at the
teams/system offices discretion
Call to question senator Drinkwine
