Lisa Foss: strategy planning, effectiveness of university, institutional data,
assessment and accreditation, useful to give you some background
information, overall we decided to look at our headcount and who are our
students, 15415 students on campus, 89.2% undergraduate students, 18-24
years old, about 31% is part time which is a trend that’s increasing,
anything under 12 credits is part time, students of color growth it is over
16% now.
-Slight increase of international students. Where do they come from? All
over the world! Equally male and female, youngest is 16 oldest is 74. 17%
are first generation, 1600 graduate students, median age for undergrads is
21. 76 is our oldest graduate student.
-More women grad students than men. Retention, difference of cohort
students we pay attention to. Increase in academic profile in new entering
students. Credit taking behavior is kind of alarming.
- Need 15 each semester, goes down the longer they are here. Predicting
new entering freshmen class, 30 credits equivalent to one full time student.
Question: Senator Sikorski: do you know the percentage of students that
take less than 12 credits and over 25?
Answer: I do not know that off of hand, we need to figure out what’s
happening there
Question Chair Robinson: do you know if those people transferred and if
that’s why it goes down?

going somewhere else
