e-LSI Project Planning and Budget - Market Participants
This document will be used to define the project schedule and budget required for the Market Participant to implement e-LSI
in their organization. In addition to this, the Market Participant should identify any issues or constraints that may prohibit them
from successfully implementing e-LSI and what they think can be done to mitigate the issue or constraint. The Market
Participant should list any assumptions they have used to create their project schedule and budget.
The intent of this document is to be used as input for the update of the e-LSI Business case and is not intended to be used
for regulatory purposes.

II. Duration/Cost
This section is used to define the project schedule and budget required for the Market Participant to implement e-LSI in
their company. For each scope item, we have defined a number of high level tasks that will be required by the Market
Participant to complete. The following provides the instructions to complete the Project Schedule and Budget table. We
have assumed that you will include items such as Project and Change Management in the number of days effort for each
major task.

1. Implement e-LSI
Client software
There will be two types of e-LSI Client software. The e-LSI Gateway software will be used to
transmit and receive transactions on a system to system basis. The e-LSI Web User Interface
will be used transmit and receive manual transactions as well as request standard e-LSI
reports.

Completion Description
Major Tasks

Training
Training to install and operate the e-LSI Gateway software should take one half day in
duration in a session conducted by AESO. The e-LSI Web User Interface will require no
installation but one day in duration should be allowed for group training of your end users on
how to navigate and operate e-LSI Web User Interface functionality. This session will be
conducted by AESO.


Installation
Installation of the e-LSI Gateway software should take one half day of effort per system
installed on. The e-LSI Web User Interface will require no installation.
Action required: Record the Start and End Dates, and total number of days effort to


Testing
Testing of the installation of the e-LSI Gateway software should one half day of effort per
system installed on. Testing of the e-LSI Web User Interface connection to the e-LSI should
take less than one hour for each end user work station to be used.

2. New Load Settlement
transactions
This will be your effort and cost to implement the applicable new Load Settlement transactions
at your company.

This will be your effort to modify your legacy system(s) to generate or receive the new Load
Settlement transactions required by e-LSI.

modifications on your system(s).

Business Process
modification
This will be your effort to modify existing business processes as a result of implementing the
new Load Settlement transactions as well as any effort required for internal training.

3. Rejected Transaction
process
This will be your effort and cost to implement the new e-LSI Rejected Transaction processes
at your company.

This will be your effort to test the new e-LSI Rejected Transactions development modifications
on your system(s).

new e-LSI Rejected Transactions as well as any effort required for internal training.

4. e-LSI Testing
This will be your effort and cost to participate in testing e-LSI at your company.

complete all major tasks.
Major Tasks

Environment Set
Up
This will be your effort to configure your legacy system(s) and designated end user
workstations to participate in the Final Acceptance Testing and, if applicable, the Market
Participant Closed Testing.
Action required: Record the Start and End Dates, and total number of days effort to
complete the task.

Training
One day in duration should be allowed for group training of your designated end users who
will participate in e-LSI testing sessions. This session will be conducted by AESO.

complete the task.

Market Participant
Closed Testing
Seven calendar days in duration have been scheduled to allow designated Market
Participants to test the e-LSI Gateway software and Web User Interface with AESO. Market
Participants should test every transaction they transmit and receive. The number of days and
effort required will be dependant on the number of different types of transactions your
organization transmits and receives as well as the extent of the testing you wish to conduct.


Final Acceptance
Testing
Twenty four calendar days in duration have been scheduled to allow all Market Participants to
test e-LSI Gateway software and Web User Interface with AESO. Market Participants should
test every transaction they transmit and receive. The number of days and effort required will
be dependant on the number of different types of transactions your organization transmits and
receives as well as the extent of the testing you wish to conduct.

5. e-LSI Production
Cutover
This will be your effort and cost to switch your Production operations from DropChute
processing to the use of e-LSI by your company. The cost and effort of production support as
defined below should also be included.
