Reading/ELA: Listening and Learning Strand Plants Unit o Life Cycle of Plants o Plants People Eat o Bees Make and Use Honey Content: Science Social Studies Unit 3: Getting Along with Others o Problem-Solving Math:Shapes 2-Dimensional Shapes - triangles, squares, rectangles, hexagons, and circles FYI We will have Show and Tell every Friday during morning meeting but this week we will have it Tuesday. Your child can bring in something they’d like their classmates to see or learn about. Please send your child with sneakers on Tuesdays and Fridays for P. E. during this marking period. There is no Say Yes the week of 11/23. Tuesday 11/24 Room 2 will be making Vegetarian Stone Soup. Please send in a can of your child’s favorite vegetable. TUESDAY DISMISSAL 10 Minutes EARLIER: There are a couple of safety drills occurring Tuesday. LOCK OUT Drill around 2:20. Everyone just stays in their classrooms and lock the classroom door. The other is the EARLY DISMMISSAL Drill where we just leave the building 10 minutes early. NO SCHOOL WEDNESDAY 11/25-FRIDAY 11/27 Tuesday 12/1 and Wednesday 12/2 the NYS will be coming to review our school in case your child talks about people watching in our classroom. Thursday 12/3 students will be having a hearing screening. STUDENT COUNSEL FUNDRAISERS AND ACTIVITIES: The first fundraiser for the Ed Smith Student Council will be held at Sky Zone! Tuesday, December 1st - 4pm to 8pm for Elementary Students (K-5) Ed Smith’s Annual Food Drive for the Salvation Army MONDAY, NOVEMBER 16TH to FRIDAY, DECEMBER 18th! Wish List includes: Canned Beans, Canned Fruit, Canned Vegetables, Jelly (NO GLASS PLEASE!), Milk (Dry or Canned), Canned Soup and Tuna Fish. These can be brought to the classroom. Holiday Candy Cane Sales: Pre-Orders taken and paid for during lunch MONDAY, DECEMBER 7th – THURSDAY, DECEMBER 10th. Candy Canes will be delivered on Monday, December 21st. $0.50 per candy cane.
