Let’s Explore the Wildlife Trail!
Penguins make their nests out of poop! Find the scientific
name for poop on the “Home Sweet Home” sign.
When you walk around the trail keep looking for other birds’
nests and keep count! How many nests did you see?
Waddle like a penguin to the markhor exhibit! Markors have big, twisted
horns that tell them apart! Can you tell the baby markhor from its mother
and father? Draw horns on the markhor below!
BONUS: Markhor dads have big long beards. Draw the beard on the dad!
Red wolves are endangered, which means there are not many left in the
wild. The zoo’s wolves are part of a species survival plan that makes sure
new red wolves are born and their parents stay very healthy.
If there are 300 red wolves today and 200 are in zoos,
how many red wolves are in the wild?
Baby elephants are a lot different than baby humans. Head over to the
baby elephant statue and find out how different they are!
Stand next to the statue. Are you taller than the baby
elephant?
Color in how many baby bottles an elephant could drink
in one meal!
When you were little did your mom and dad tell you stories and sing you
lullabies? Spectacled bear moms do the same thing, but their lullabies
sound very different.
Sing a bear lullaby!
Make a soft purring sound like a cat.
Make a shrill screech like a bird.
Now you are singing spectacled bear lullabies!
