As a student, YOU are responsible for: Your PERSONAL CONDUCT and CHARACTER Your LEARNING Your COOPERATION WITH OTHERS & TREATING OTHERS WITH RESPECT Your respect for the PROPERTY OF OTHERS Your helping to maintain a SAFE SCHOOL COMMUNITY Attending school regularly and on time Being respectful of adults Working hard and making good choices Following school rules Accepting consequences for your behavior Making an effort to improve your behavior Dressing appropriately Doing your work to the best of your ability Come to school/class ready to learn Challenging yourself and try hard Be honest and hand in your own work Coming to school every day with a positive attitude Asking for help when you need it – don’t be afraid to ask for help! Treat others the way you want to be treated (The Golden Rule) Speak your mind politely and respectfully Use a non threatening voice and body language Listen when others speak to you Respect personal space - keep hands to yourself Work cooperatively with others Act with kindness, caring, and sensitivity towards others (you never know who is having a bad day) Taking care of other people’s belongings and use them appropriately Personal electronics off and out of sight Using school technology appropriately Violence, intimidation, bullying, harassment, discrimination are NOT allowed Ask for help if you need to resolve a conflict or feel unsafe Help keep our school safe and look out for others Be safe on the bus and using school equipment Make safe and positive choices Reset Pass When you feel upset or angry and need a break, let your teacher know and they may give you a Reset pass Teachers can also ask you to take a Reset pass if you are having a tough time in class Your teacher will call the office and a sentry will escort you to the BIC room The BIC coordinator will may send you to a support staff member to help talk and help you get back on track and ready to learn Restorative Circles Responsive Conferences Mediation Assignment of a Support Coach Reset Pass Working together with parent(s) and other adults to support you Changes within your classroom Daily or weekly progress reports Check & Connect Mentoring
