My wife and I are both teachers. We saved sales receipts and
determined that a 23% national sales tax would amount to a savings of
$700 per month in taxes. While we would invest a portion of our
savings in stocks, we would also be much more likely to buy a new car
and make other big ticket purchases. We also like the notion of
FAIRTAX as a reliable Social Security reform.
