The President's Advisory Panel on Federal Tax Reform
1440 New York Avenue NW Suite 2100
Washington, DC 20220
Dear Sir or Madam:
In my considered opinion, the income tax should be eliminated and replaced with a flat sales tax.
The current system has never been fair for me. I have no children, and will never. Most of the local taxes that I pay go to the school system – probably 80% or better. Then I get to listen to the folks on the right harp about taking the public funds to private schools. I think I should be able to take the public funds and give them to gay activist organizations.
I make a good living, and I pay dearly in taxes. Yet every time there is a tax break, it is given to those with children. I get nothing. Look at the last two “breaks” the Bush “administration” gave. It sure did not include me.
There are thousands of laws that discriminate against me… more than I can go into here. Let us just say, that I cannot get married to take advantage of the special breaks, as it is illegal in my state.
Frankly I don’t see that getting any better soon. If the “administration” gets it’s way, the discrimination will be added to the constitution.
Eliminate the loopholes – make it a flat tax.
Sincerely,
Gregory L. Filter
