The Public Housing Authorities Directors Association represents nearly 1,900 public
housing authorities nationwide with a variety of advocacy services. We appreciate your
invitation to address the Commission with our enclosed comments and recommendations
and, given the scale of your “portfolio,” your willingness to assess and consider our
response.
As you suggested in your letter, we have put our focus on those areas and questions which
are of most critical importance to our members. In addition, where appropriate, we have
also included elements of our own “Vision of Affordable Housing in the 21st Century” that
we developed last year. A copy of the Vision Statement is enclosed with our response.
