A meeting of the Strategic Planning and Budget Committee of Shared
Governance was held on March 22, 2010 at in the Administration Building
conference room, Lake Superior State University
 Meeting called to order by Chair Linda Schmitigal at 3:00

o Linda Schmitigal (Chair), Associate Professor of Management
o Leslie Dobbertin, Professor, Chair of the School of Social Science

o Maurice Walworth, Dean of Engineering, Technology and Economic

ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA/ APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES
o Moved by Leslie Dobbertin supported by Linda Schmitigal
That the Agenda be adopted and be approved as revised
o On a voice vote the motion carried without objection.
DISCUSSION
o LSSU’s Core Values were discussed:
A brief presentation of the collected value sheets from various campus
departments was held. Members were asked to review the value statements,
identify at least five core values of importance to them and develop a
supporting statement for each one for the next meeting.
It was agreed that the next meeting be scheduled for Monday, March 29, 3:00
p.m. in the Administration Building conference room.

