1. Discoverer Decommission
a. Jackie Kellerman is meeting with Nancy Nethery to continue working on reports
this week.
b. Nicole Parker has more reports to work on; Nancy Neve has a few more reports
also.

3. Data Standards
a. Susan Fitzpatrick is hoping to schedule a meeting following Commencement.
b. Jerry Stephens offered to forward any pertinent posts from the BORACLE
listserv to Susan Fitzpatrick.
4. Project Management
a. Another request has been received from Human Resources.
b. Jerry Stephens will be calling a meeting soon.
5. Ellucian Mobile Application
a. Jerry Stephens has been working with the consultant to figure out why some
people can log in and some people are unsuccessful.
b. The application uses the my.LSSU password.
6. FGAC
a. Kathy Spencer is re-applying the access in TEST8; should be ready tomorrow.
7. Identity Management
a. Ellucian has a new product, Ellucian Identity Services(EIS) that would take the
place of CAS or Shibboleth
b. EIS is part of the solution to allow a user to move between Banner 8 and Banner
XE without requiring separate log in.
c. EIS is part of our contract; additional costs would be those associated with
implementation.
d. The Identity Management implementation will require the Sun One LDAP to be
rebuilt, and we must upgrade the current Active Directory server from 2003 to
2008.
e. We will need to define roles of constituents in more detail – we currently use
only the roles of Faculty, Employee, and Student.
f. The Identity Management solution will provide for account provisioning and deprovisioning.
g. The time-frame for completion of this project is the end of Summer 2015.
8. Effort Reporting
a. Training is complete.
b. Module is now live and the link is now showing in Anchor Access.
9. Banner General Upgrade
a. Banner General 8.7, 8.7.1, 8.7.2, Web Tailor and Web General are now in
TEST8. TEST8 was refreshed April 6.
b. General 8.7.3 was not applied.
c. Banner Student 8.7, Web Student 8.7 and Faculty/Advisor 8.7 upgrades were
applied.
d. Nancy Neve will look at the upgrades.
e. If Student 8.7.3 is required, then General 8.7.3 must also be applied.
f. Nancy Neve and Georgiana Cox requested that the documentation be made
available on the O:\; Kathy Spencer will make sure these are made available.
g. Jackie Kellerman stated that a COD upgrade would be coming prior to June 8.
10. New Business
a. GTVZIPC table updates
i. Susan Fitzpatrick explained that her area is finding zip codes that are not in
the Banner tables. They are adding to the table as they are discovered.
ii. Discussion followed about what should be done.
1. There is a need to make sure the county and state match.
2. Jerry Stephens will ask Dave Aho to research this topic.
b. Report on Ellucian Live 2015
i. Jerry Stephens attended this year’s Ellucian Live conference. He tuned in to
the status of BannerXE (aka Banner 9).
1. Ellucian is ramping up to release more products in the XE product.
2. The target is to have everything available by June 2016.
3. Banner 8 uses Oracle Forms; Self Service uses WebTailor and HTML.
4. Banner XE is java-based for all functionality, with no more requirements
for Oracle Forms, Web Tailor or HTML.
5. Our infrastructure is in place to turn XE on now, but the architecture
needed to go back and forth between XE and Banner 8 is not.
6. XE is a modular-type system that us being implemented piecemeal.
ii. Jerry also encouraged everyone to go out and register for eCommunities
(http://www.ellucian.com/eCommunities/) and to find BUGMI there as well.
iii. Jerry spoke with someone from Northern Michigan University regarding
Axiom Admissions Software. He picked up a thumb drive with some
information on it and will send it on to Alan Case and Joe Barrs.
The next BIG meeting date is May 11, 2015 at 2:00pm.
