Privacy/Confidentiality Policy SCHOOL OF NURSING PRIVACY/CONFIDENTIALITY All persons are entitled to privacy and confidential health care. Nursing students must make a commitment to and are ethically bound to preserve all clients’ rights to privacy/confidentiality by prudently protecting private information. The School of Nursing requires nursing students to make this commitment by signing a confidentiality form that will be placed in the student’s file. As a Lake Superior State University nursing student it is your responsibility to know the contents of the ANA Nurses Code of Ethics. Lake Superior State University School of Nursing PRIVACY/CONFIDENTIALITY STATEMENT Privacy and confidentiality are the basis of all nurse-client relationships. Any breach of privacy, confidentiality, or dignity and rights of a person will result in immediate justification for clinical failure, at any point during the semester, resulting in a failing course grade.
