You will use the websites under culinary arts to complete this assignment.
You can look at the menus to give you design ideas. You can look at the recipe sites to give you
ideas on what to include in your menu.
DO NOT COPY A MENU or EXACT FOOD from the menus you look at.
You must have at least 4 appetizers, 6 main courses, 4 desserts and 4 drinks (school
appropriate), and at least 3 kid options (this usually includes a main course, choice of sides
and a drink).
Answer the questions below
What kind of restaurant have you chosen (Mexican, Italian, all kinds of food, will it be kid
friendly)?
What is your restaurant’s name?
What are the important characteristics of a menu for the restaurant you have chosen?
What details make sense for food items?
Does the menu go beyond simply naming the food item?
What typeface best fits the menu? How large should it be?
What colors belong on the menu?
How do the colors relate to the other elements of the menu?
1. What kind of images would best represent the restaurant and why?
2. How do the images on the menu relate to the food and the restaurant?
2. Make sure you have creative names for your food and they make sense with the other food on
the menu.
3. You will create an actual menu using construction paper or the computer (you can use word, or
publisher) . I think publisher would be the easiest to use and look the best. You must include
prices for each item.
4. The menu must be attractive and easy to read. Under each food name you must include a
description of what is in the food.
