Spelling Bingo Students, your homework for this week will be a bit different. Instead of using the usual spelling contracts, you will use the bingo sheet. You are to choose 5 activities from the bingo “board”. When you complete an activity, cross it off on the sheet. You need to complete 5 in a row, vertical, horizontal, or diagonal. We will have time to complete one in class, so you can do one per night, or more if you want a “free night” of spelling. If it is a written activity, please attach it to this with a stapler. If it is one of the verbal activities, please have your parent initial the box as we discussed in class. Have fun!! Create a poem using at least 15 of your spelling words. Choose eight words, and use each word in a complete sentence. Use a dictionary, and write your words, separating them by syllables. Put a dash between the syllables. Example: gi-ant Write your words once, and circle the letters that are vowels. Type your whole spelling list on the computer, using a different font for each word. Write each word three times in your best cursive. Fold your paper 3 times to make 8 boxes. Write one word in each box and illustrate it. Have someone quiz you on your words verbally. (you spell them out loud) List your words in groups by how many syllables each has. (all 2 syllables in a group, all 3 syllables in another group) Read each word aloud to your parents, and use each one in a sentence verbally – you don’t have to write it. Write each word three times each, using different colors for each set of words. Cut letters out of a magazine and glue them onto a sheet of paper to spell ten of your words. Quiz your parents on your spelling words!! Write your words on a sheet of paper and write the part of speech each one is. (noun, verb, adjective, adverb) Write the spelling list in ABC order BACKWARDS! Write a math word problem, using at least two spelling words. (solve the problem) Write the spelling list in ABC order.
