MCOM 316 Interviews
You will be assigned in groups of three for this mock job interview on camera. It is an
out-of-class assignment with the final VHS tape due by May 14th. It is important not to
wait till the last minute to do this assignment.
The steps involve:
1. Checking out a camera and tripod from the equipment room (check time for
check-out/check-in on equipment room door – GC 102).
2. Locate a room in Lane Center or a residence hall lounge (someplace where there
is adequate lighting) for taping an interview.
3. One person will be responsible for taping the interview.
4. Each person will also be an interviewer and an interviewee in rotation.
5. All interviews should be approximately five minutes in length.
6. One tape with three interviews will be submitted for grading.
7. The interviewer will earn 25 points and the interviewee will earn 75 points,
totaling 100 points per person.

Prepare a one page perfect resume in advance.
Give a copy of your resume to the person who will interview you.
Prepare a list of questions that would typically be asked in a job interview.
As a group, submit one VHS tape with your names labeled clearly on the tape.
Proper professional attire and appearance are essential for the best grade.
