Dear Parents,
It’s time for a busy spring for FFA members. Currently students are working on
leadership contests. Your child might be working alone on a speech or job interview
contest or in a group on some type of presentation, demonstration or parliamentary
th
procedure team. Time will go fast! Districts are on February
at
:00 p.m. in
. I hope that you and your family will be there to watch and support your student.
You are welcome to ride the bus with us or drive on your own. I will let you know closer
th
to the competition when the bus will leave. Until February
, you can help your
contestant by proof reading scripts, helping them to memorize their script, watching them
give their presentation and then giving them suggestions on how to improve their work.
A big part of their score will be their ability to answer questions related to their
presentation so ask questions and more questions!
If your student does well at districts they may earn their way to regional contests
st
which will be on February
in
. You might just want to mark the date on
your calendar now. Our FFA members have historically done well at districts and many
times they have moved on to regionals… so be prepared for success!
Following regionals is the FFA State Convention at Michigan State University. Many
FFA members will be invited to attend the state convention on
through
.
There are convention sessions, displays, contests and other assorted activities in which to
participate. We will stay at the
Hotel in East Lansing. The cost for this
convention is $
per student. That price includes
. Your child will need
money for food and any MSU/FFA souvenirs they might want. (See fee schedule on next
page). This is a great experience for FFA members. They get to meet people from all
over the state, spend quality time on a college campus and learn about being leaders in
the process. State Convention invitations will be distributed on
!
I know this is a great deal to digest so please call if you have any questions. These are
great opportunities for your child and I hope you will share in the hard work and the fun
of their success. Please R.S.V.P. for those events in which you are interested by
returning the attached page to

.
Thank you,
FFA
