CHAPTER DISPLAY CONTEST
OBJECTIVE: For reporters to lead their chapter in creating a display using
effective display techniques.
PART ONE (5 min): Explanation of attributes of an effective display. Sharing of
display evaluation criteria.
PART TWO (10 min): Break into pairs and brainstorming bulletin board themes,
catch phrases and display ideas. Come back as a chapter to share ideas and decide
on one theme, catch phrase and display idea to create for the display contest.
Note: keep your list of brainstorming ideas for use in future displays!
PART THREE (5 min): Create a display sketch of what your final display board will
look like.
PART FOUR (40 min): Build your display! Have FUN!! When you are finished,
evaluate your display using the “Effective Display Evaluation” criteria. Your
display will be judged using the same criteria.
