MIDDLE SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY 2013 POLICIES
1) Attendance and Absences
a) Players may have excused absences for the following reasons:
i) Personal illness with a note from a doctor/parent
ii) School-related functions
iii) Death/illness in immediate family
b) No matter what the reason is for you being absent you must call and leave a message or talk to Coach
Mallam or Benton. The field house phone number is 940-369-2476.

2) Practice and Game Times:
a) Meets will be run on Wednesdays unless there is bad weather.
b) The first cross country meet will on Wednesday November 13, 2013.
c) Practices for 7th grade will be:
i) A-days: During the period.
B-days: 7:30-8:00am

d) Practices for 8 grade will be:
i) A-days: 4:00-4:30, pickup no later than 5:00pm.
B-days: During the period.
ii) Parents you can drop off your child by McAlister Gym before 7:30am to get ready for 7th grade
practice.
e) There will be no cross country practice the day after a meet.
f) Also for “MEETS,” athletes are allowed to leave with a parent/guardian after their entire team has
completed their runs. We will have a sign-out sheet so you can sign your child out after each meet if
you wish to take them home early. If not then the bus will bring everyone back to school where you will
be able to pick them up.
g) This year with our cross country teams we are asking that athletes brings $5.00 if they would like for us
to buy some healthy snacks, Gatorade, water, or other items for them to eat before and after the meets.

7th Grade Girls A* 1 Mile
7th Grade Girls B* 1 Mile
7th Grade Boys A** 1.5 Miles
7th Grade Boys B** 1.5 Miles
8th Grade Girls A** 1.5 Miles
8th Grade Girls B** 1.5 Miles
8th Grade Boys A*** 2 Miles
8th Grade Boys B*** 2 Miles

** This course follows the yellow path to the orange path returning to finish on the yellow path.
