GEOGRAPHY
Brandon Bohks has accepted a position with Bolton and
Menk Engineering of Mankato as a wetlands specialist. The
job utilizes his Bachelor's degree from MSU in Biology and
his Master’s Degree in Geography with its GIS focus.
HISTORY
David Nichols had his paper, "Prohibiting Farmers: The
Economic Impact of Prohibition on Hops and Barley
Farmers, 1919-1933," accepted by the Agricultural History
Society for their annual meeting, New York,NY, June 2016.
Cassandra Schreiber, Sarah Marsh, Mary Jane Harty,
and Shawna Petersen-Brown presented their research, “The
Implementation of Literacy Interventions: The Role of
Paraprofessionals,” at the National Association of School
Psychologists Conference, New Orleans, LA, February 12,
2016.

ANTHROPOLOGY
The American Indigenous Studies program presented
the film, The Garden, a film by Scott Hamilton Kennedy
as a part of the Indigenous Film Series. The film series is
sponsored by American Indian Affairs, American
Indigenous Studies, and the Sociology Department,
February 22, 2016.
Joe Kunkel was interviewed by KEYC TV Mankato about
the results of the Iowa Caucuses, February 2016.
PSYCHOLOGY
The School Psychology Program received full National
Association of School Psychologists approval for their
Psy.D. program, February 2016.
GOVERNMENT
Kristie Campana (Psychology), Aaron Deris (COE), Pat
Nelson (Government), and Claudia Pragman (COB)
collaborated to present, "Using Softchalk Cloud to Create
Digital Lessons for Online Learners," at the 2016 STAR
Symposium, February 19, 2016.
SOCIAL WORK
Nancy Fitzsimons was quoted in a NASW article
advocating for people with disabilities. The article
appeared in the February 2016 National Association of
Social Workers News, Volume 61, No. 2, Washington,
DC.
Tom Inglot had his article, “Path-Dependence versus
Reform in Pensions and Family Policy Re-examined:

Missy Manderfeld was recognized as a Century Member

Council, for having presented more than 100 Promoting
Respect Workshops in K-12 classrooms, February 8,

The Law Enforcement Club, Chris Dobratz, and Pat

Enforcement work related stress including Cumulative
Stress, PTSD, and Depression, February 4, 2016.
