GEOGRAPHY Brandon Bohks has accepted a position with Bolton and Menk Engineering of Mankato as a wetlands specialist. The job utilizes his Bachelor's degree from MSU in Biology and his Master’s Degree in Geography with its GIS focus. HISTORY David Nichols had his paper, "Prohibiting Farmers: The Economic Impact of Prohibition on Hops and Barley Farmers, 1919-1933," accepted by the Agricultural History Society for their annual meeting, New York,NY, June 2016. GOVERNMENT Kristie Campana (Psychology), Aaron Deris (COE), Pat Nelson (Government), and Claudia Pragman (COB) collaborated to present, "Using Softchalk Cloud to Create Digital Lessons for Online Learners," at the 2016 STAR Symposium, February 19, 2016. SOCIAL WORK Nancy Fitzsimons was quoted in a NASW article advocating for people with disabilities. The article appeared in the February 2016 National Association of Social Workers News, Volume 61, No. 2, Washington, DC. Missy Manderfeld was recognized as a Century Member at the Annual Meeting of the Greater Mankato Diversity Council, for having presented more than 100 Promoting Respect Workshops in K-12 classrooms, February 8, 2016. SOCIOLOGY AND CORRECTIONS The Law Enforcement Club, Chris Dobratz, and Pat Nelson sponsored the, “Pain Behind the Badge,” seminar.
