By the end of this unit, students will be able to:
1. Compare and contrast inorganic and organic molecules
2. List and describe the structure and function of macromolecules,
including: Carbohydrates, Lipids, Protein, and Nucleic Acids
3. Describe the properties of water that are important to life
4. Draw and label a water molecule
5. Describe the function of enzymes
6. Describe the structure and function of ATP
7. Identify all terms in the chemical equation for photosynthesis and for
cellular respiration
8. Identify the relationships between the reactants, products, and energy
flow between photosynthesis and cellular respiration.
9. Explain the role that energy plays in cells.
